Less than 1 minute Minutes
by Renee Taylor, VP, Global Microsoft Alliance, Rackspace Technology

The FAIR Generative AI Roadshow hit the road in early 2024, sharing AI insights with over 80 organizations in four locations in the Americas: Atlanta, New York, Dallas and Mexico City. The roadshow was a collaborative event between Foundry for AI by Rackspace (FAIR™) and Microsoft® Azure®.

The first round of visits to four locations was a huge success. The roadshow will resume in the fall with two more locations.

At each stop on the journey, we gave attendees a hands-on experience and the opportunity to:

    • Engage directly with AI experts from FAIR and Microsoft Azure Open AI
    • Learn about real-world AI deployment success stories
    • Explore the innovative AI-driven collaboration between FAIR and Microsoft
    • View live demonstrations of cutting-edge AI solutions, including:Rackspace Intelligent Co-worker for Enterprise (ICE)
    • Rackspace Intelligent Technology Agent (RITA)
    • Receive a personalized strategy session to help identify and prioritize use cases for integrating AI within their business

Here are highlights from the first leg of the FAIR Generative AI Roadshow.

What was the inspiration for the FAIR Generative AI Roadshow?

The inspiration was seizing the opportunity to bring AI to our customers and potential customers across the Americas. The roadshow gave FAIR the opportunity to demonstrate the power and potential of innovative AI initiatives on Microsoft Azure Open AI.

Engaging with business leaders in-person and in their regions gave us the chance to speak directly to their specific AI business needs and answer their questions. Also, the events allowed leaders to explore AI tools through hands-on experiences conveniently close to their locations in the Microsoft Technology Centers (MTC).

Who were the speakers at the various roadshow locations?

The speakers included experts from Rackspace Technology and a Microsoft specialist at the event in Mexico City:

  • Atlanta:
    • Nirmal Ranganathan, VP Engineering and Distinguished Architect
  • New York:
    • Hemanta Banerjee, VP Public Cloud Data Service
    • Melodi Yin, Partner Solution Architect
  • Dallas:
    • Ram Viswanathan, CTO AI

Tell us about the locations for the roadshow.

Three events took place in a Microsoft Technology Center, of which there are 40 located in major cities around the world. These centers are designed to be world-class labs where Microsoft customers can engage with technology. The event in Mexico City was held on a terrace, which enhanced our customers’ experience.

What feedback did you receive from attendees during the roadshow’s spring leg?

Attendees at our first four venues came from a variety of companies in the enterprise sector. They gave the events high ratings on several fronts, including the locations, duration, schedule format, content delivered and the caliber of our speakers.

Among the features attendees liked the most were:

  • AI sessions with Rackspace and Microsoft experts
  • AI studio presentations
  • Demonstrations of Intelligent Co-worker for the Enterprise (ICE)
  • Demos of Rackspace Intelligent Technology Assistant (RITA)
  • Peer networking opportunities

Lessons learned from phase one of the roadshow

Attendees really loved the interactive sessions, discussions and exploration of our AI success stories. So, we’ll be enriching those sections at our next two stops in the fall. We’ll also include new success stories with a focus on each region and with deeper insights that match the local business leaders’ expectations.
